The big picture:
Update 1st October 2012
Q129

Well 2 years later I have a small update. Since PBR has the real Q129 - the transfer wagon VR used to use to transport the 2ft 6inch locos and rollingstock to/from the Newport workshops.

Well thanks to Charles Schuster, who organised with alot of work to get a overseas 3D designer to create a lot of 3D models. These were not for the Train simulators on a PC, they were for a 3D printer to make a real object.

Over 3 years ago I produced this simple webpage : Stereolithography

Charles used a 3D printing service call Shapeways. They can "print" for yourself or allow others to buy your designs, and ship it to you. Charles wanted a lot of PBR equipment for HOn30 and has shared his creations with us all to buy and have. But He has done some On30 models, and theQ129 is one ( And I hope more may follow )

The Shapeways On30 Q129

So I decided to buy the Q129 in On30. All I need is some wheels - the bogie is a static model, non-working. It arrice 1 OCt 2012 (hence this post) - and thought I'd put up a few photos. The model is very nice indeed strong enough and looks great.

Photos taken tonight and done quickly. I'm impressed with the technology and see a lot more to come !
