This Shspeways 3D printed stuff is interesting. But as Iw ere ordering several PBR items, I searched for some other On30 locos that might be cheaper to make as a test. I found this one, though On16.5, ie 7mm scale, the size was not out of bounds. This loco is a UK model, but I am not concerned with accuracy at all. in the shapeways list it is listed as a "O-16.5 Talyllyn Railway "Merseysider" Body Kit". I will paint it however I like etc. |

The Bachmann Ben mechanism was not suitable forthe Peckett project, but why not use it for this loco ? The real one probally does not have siderods, but thus is not a prototypical project, a freelanced one so anything goes. No need to waste the mech after all ! |

This mechanism has been worked on and off since it's purchase in June. First to go was ther body, clyinders, and then the extra gearing tot he front for the rolling eyes. that saved a lot of space. Lot of the front and rear of the chassie went next. The front of the cabn's hood has suffered the cutting in order to fit this mechanism. I will make a toolbox etc to hide this airgap. I intend to imstall LED lights, two at the front and one mounted on the flt cab end. It will need a DCC chip as well, probally a TCS one hard wired in. At the moment it may be opainted dark green with red fufferbeams, black undersides, black grills.
