The DH class loco at PBR is a big loco. And with 2 of them in use, their presence is there. Being a ex 3ft 6inch Queensland loco they really do tower over the rest of the PuffingBilly's locos and rollingstock. I purchased a 3D printed model from shapeways. It is a big loco for On30. There will be a On30 DH kit from Aust-o-Models - it will be a great kit and I will eventually save up for one. So long term I will have 2 of these beasts. It will also mean I can have one as per PBR in blue and gold, as well as a QR painted version. |

For such a loco with 3ftwheels, this equates to 3/4 inch (19mm) diameter wheels. I think the Hollywood foundry will be needed for such a mechanism. I friend suggested a "S" scasle mechanism, but it was slightly wrong in wheelbase and bogie wheelbase. The model is big on internal space too, so a sound decoder and a good speaker should be possible. |
