Update: 14 December 2006
I'm taking this layout with me 2000km up Australia's Eastern coast in my little Toyota corolla. Three weeks holidays over Christmas and new Year. For this is exactally what it was built for. I might do some work on it while up there. So for that I have been collecting stuff to take, kits, material etc. There is the total wiring of the layout, DCC only to be sure, BUT if I want to i can have switch to DC and have one DC loco running, which wouild not be out of place anyhow. Each "module" will have it's own short globe - and not secitoend for running as such. Also have to plan and build the staging yard. Orginally I were going to build a turntable. But I might just settle for a 3 track staging board. I have a 3 way pint made, that I can use. Hmm will think about that..... Scenery wise I want to build the road bridge and make the embankment as well. I have cut out bare bases for varous areas: The Platform, the oile area, the cattle yard, the goods yard, and the church. You can see the church on one photo fromt he last update. The bases will allow the structure to be built off the layout, or to be reused on the main layout. Also got to finish balsa sleeper installation, and painting. The main thing is to get it operable before I come back. Next update I hope to have some progress to show. |
