This is a summary not a definitive page on CSX train numbers.
This link can be of use: CSX Train Symbol Updates (FACEBOOK group) A Train needs a id so all on the system know where is from, where it's going, what it generally carries and goes, how important it is. CSX and all other railway have their own train numbering system. CSX seems to use North and South as their direction. Generally most train ending with a even number go North, and ending with a odd number go South. L,D and W series are directionless. Here's a basic sum up:
